FLINT HIGH SCHOOL CELEBRATES RECORD RESULTS
Message from Mrs McClean, Headteacher.
We are celebrating a record crop of results. A-level had 98.5% pass rate with outstanding results from Maths and PE and all year 13s hoping to go to university/college have a place. Rachel Hammond was the top performer and is going to Manchester to study French and Karen Davison is going to Bangor to study Music. Yan Chen, who only came to the UK 5 years ago without any English, did exceptionally well and is going to Sheffield to read Maths and Dylan Evans gained the grades to get him into the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in Surrey, to train as a British Army officer. Cerys Roberts has a place at John Moores University to study English and creative writing and Bethan Conway did fantastically to take her to Cardiff to study Sport Coaching.
At GCSE there was an amazing improvement - up 10% at 5A* - C from 44% last year to 54.6% this year, by far and above the best results for at least 10 years with Science and Music as the star departments! We are again celebrating some outstanding performances - Victoria Wheeler had all ‘A*’ apart from 1 A and Rochelle Bedford had 5 ‘A*’ and the rest ‘A’s! Amongst the boys, Jac Veysey and Jake Massey came top with a crop of ‘A’s and an ‘A*’.
